I played Saint Petersburg, this being the first play of the game this year. It was a very close game with Mark gradually inching ahead during the game mainly through building scores, before I just managed to pull things back on aristocrat scores at the end of the game, I had 10 to 7 for a swing of 27 points. It was Peter's first game and I think if he plays again he will perform quite a bit better.
Peter left after that and the remaining 3 of us played Taluva, Steve winning this one by placing all of his huts and towers.
Steve and I finished off with a quick game of Guillotine, while he was waiting for Mike who was introduced to Province by Chris. This was only the second time that we have played a 2 player game of this at the club (or at least the second recorded, this being a game that we have played going back to before we have records). In this Steve was able to get off to a flying start with Marie Antoinette and soon after Louis XVI, the gap remaining much the same after that.
On other tables, there were various other old and new favourites including Nations, this was won by Scott despite playing on a higher level than the others (except for Dave). Scott has been in all 8 of the games played here this year winning 4 of them.
